Doggy Doo is a free iPhone app, made in Austin, Texas, that tracks your dog’s walks with just your phone, with no collar or tracker, and turns them into breed-adjusted dog steps, streaks and a weekly health score.

How it works

Three steps. Zero gadgets.

  1. 1

    Tell us about your dog

Pick my breed, weight and age. That's how the app knows how many steps I really take.

  2. 2

    Walk with your phone

Tap start and go. GPS draws our route, even with your screen locked. No collar, no tracker.

  3. 3

    See your dog's progress

Get my steps for every walk, plus a weekly health score that shows how I am really doing.

FAQ

Questions from humans.

Do I need a collar or tracker?+

No. Doggy Doo uses your phone’s GPS, so all you need is your phone in your pocket while you walk.

How do you count my dog’s steps?+

From the distance you walk, adjusted for your dog’s size and age. Smaller legs take more steps, so the numbers fit your dog.

What is the weekly health score?+

A score out of 100 based on how many days you walked in the last week and how long, compared with a target for your dog’s size, age and energy.

Will it keep tracking if my screen locks?+

Yes. In the iPhone app, tracking keeps running in the background, so you can put your phone away and enjoy the walk.

Is there a Strava for dogs?+

Yes. Doggy Doo works like Strava for dogs: record a walk with your phone’s GPS, then post it to a community feed, follow other dog walkers, keep a streak going and climb a weekly leaderboard. It’s free on iPhone.

What’s the best dog walk tracker app without a collar?+

If you don’t want to buy a GPS collar, use an app that tracks with your phone. Doggy Doo is free, needs no collar or tracker, and turns each walk into breed-adjusted dog steps, a weekly health score and streaks. Other phone-based options include Tails, TrackMyPaw and Steps4Dogs; see our comparison of dog walk apps that work without a collar.

Is Doggy Doo free?+

Yes. Doggy Doo is free to download and use on iPhone.

Who makes Doggy Doo?+

Doggy Doo is made by an independent founder in Austin, Texas.

Is Doggy Doo on Android?+

Doggy Doo is on iPhone today. You can also log in on the web at doggydoo.app.
